Why do families choose Malta permanent residence?
Malta offers permanent residence from day one in an English-speaking EU member state, with Schengen travel and up to four generations on one application. There is no minimum stay. Government charges for the main applicant with spouse and minor children total €99,000, kept separate from the property buy or rent requirement. Dynasty Migration's professional fee is quoted on consultation.
Who it suits
A fit when Europe is the goal — without chasing citizenship by investment
Multi-generation families
Spouse, minors, adult children under 29 who are principally dependent, and dependent parents or grandparents can be included under the published rules.
Our commitmentGulf-based planners
A European base roughly six hours from the Gulf, with English administration and Schengen mobility for short stays.
Our commitmentResidence, not a second passport
Choose this when permanent residence is the goal. It is not Maltese citizenship and does not unlock living or working elsewhere in the EU.

Step by step
How a Malta permanent residence file typically proceeds
Programme-specific stages. The Residency Malta Agency decides every application. Timing is confirmed on consultation — there is no single government guarantee.
1Eligibility and capital review
Confirm nationality eligibility, capital proof (€500k/€150k or €650k/€75k financial assets), and who will be included across four generations.
2File preparation
Assemble identity, police, source-of-funds, and insurance documents to Agency standards, with translations and certifications as required.
3Submission and Agency fees
Lodge through an authorised agent. Only the first administrative instalment is due before the Agency decision.
4Approval in principle and property
After AIP, settle remaining government charges and secure qualifying buy or rent within the published window.
5Biometrics and residence card
Complete biometrics and card issuance. Permanent status applies from day one; the card is renewed every five years.
Documents
What the Agency typically expects
Exact lists are confirmed against the current Agent Handbook before filing.
Identity and civil status
Passports, civil status evidence, and dependant relationship documents for everyone on the file.
Our commitmentCharacter and insurance
Police certificates covering the published look-back period, plus EU/Malta health insurance for the monitoring period.
Our commitmentMeans and property
Capital and source-of-funds evidence, then buy or rent contracts that meet the five-year hold.
Our commitmentFAQs
Is Malta permanent residence the same as citizenship?
No. MPRP is permanent residence only. It does not provide a Maltese passport or the right to live or work in other EU states.
What is the capital requirement?
Proof of €500,000 in assets including €150,000 financial assets, or €650,000 including €75,000 financial assets. Crypto does not count as a financial asset under Dynasty's published guidance.
Can grandparents be included?
Yes, where they are not in full-time employment and are principally dependent. Each adult dependant attracts a €7,500 fee.
Who approves the application?
Residency Malta Agency. Dynasty Migration prepares and guides the file but does not decide applications.
How current are these figures?
Verified in September 2026. We re-confirm criteria before any application.
Clear limitation
Important to know
Permanent residence is not citizenship, does not provide a Maltese passport, and does not give the right to live or work in other EU states. Malta's former citizenship-by-investment route ended in 2025; MPRP is unaffected.
Approval rests with the authority
Only the issuing government or its unit can approve, refuse, or revoke an application.
No outcome can be promised
No adviser can guarantee a decision. Any claim of assured approval is a warning sign.
Rules can change after publication
Thresholds, fees, and criteria are set by the authority and may change — confirm before you commit.
